I have been thinking over and over again to publish our birth story for months now, and I just felt like it had to be the first thing I published.
Well I actually didn't know I was pregnant until maybe when I was in my third trimester, which as bad, but let me rewind a little on how I didn't know.( Rewind back to my first trimester ). When I was probably one month pregnant I got really ill(I won't go into details) and I didn't know why, I had always been perfectly healthy. I went to the doctor, and I got a bunch of lab tests done, and they all came back normal. I know what you're thinking. WHAT?Then I they just kept referring me to specialist, and they all would say had gastritis or a stomach virus, but I know for a fact a stomach virus does not last 3 months. I went to get ultrasounds nothing showed up absolutely nothing. You're probably also asking how did I not know if the first symptoms of pregnancy are a missed period, and the answer is I had my period almost throughout my whole pregnancy. I don't know why, but I did.
After approximately the second trimester I felt fine better than ever, and I had actually put up some weight. I would eat anything (except Pizza) , and not feel the urge to vomit . Then one day it happened I felt her kick HARD, and I was just in complete shock that all this time I could have been pregnant and not known. I felt so mad at the Doctors for not doing their job correctly, and not knowing what was really going on with me, but most of all I was so mad at myself because I didn't know. I missed out on so much during my pregnancy, and the fact I didn't know always comes back taunting me. Then in that moment I made an appointment to an Ob gyn. The day that I went; Ismael went with me. I was so scared that something could be wrong with my baby. I just kept on saying over and over in my head "please let everything be alright", and then they called me in and they did an ultrasound .They said I was approximately 7 months and 2 weeks pregnant. We wanted to find out the gender but it would be a surprise since she would always hide from us. When I asked my midwife why my urine, blood, and pregnancy tests came all back negative she said my pregnancy was different, it was different because it was a cryptic pregnancy . (you can read more about it here ). Basically a cryptic pregnancy is when the hormonal imbalance of a woman isn't normal isn't normal. It also means that urine, blood pregnancy tests, and ultrasounds can go undetected, but in some cases the mother can feel the fetus movement. As a few weeks went by, we were waiting for Genesis arrival and it was the first day of school after Christmas break, and I just felt like pain kind of like cramps, but I didn't pay attention to it so I just went back to sleep. That same day I went to the OB GYN and I told my midwife about the cramps, but she said it was just Braxton Hicks contractions. The next day in the morning I felt the same , so Ismael decided to take me to the hospital. Who would have known that God would have blessed us that same day with the birth of our daughter. It was so difficult, but afterwards it was all worth it. Genesis was a born healthy baby girl on January 6, 2015 at 6:10. Thank to my midwife and the nurse who would not leave me alone even if her shift had ended an hour before, and now we feel so happy with our baby girl words cannot describe how much we love her. The reason behind on why I decided to publish G's birth story is to let all of y'all mommas know that everyone goes through something in life. All of go through something, but we just have to make the best of it ,because at the end of your pregnancy the tears, the pain, the sweat, everything it's all worth it when you hold your child for the first time.
